Apple releases OS patch to address DYLD vulnerability in OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. Find out how to protect yourself and apply the patch.
The new patch to address the DYLD vulnerability brings bug fixes, security enhancements, and performance improvements to OS X 10.10.5.
The update will fix the DYLD_PRINT_TO_FILE privilege vulnerability that can allow malware to gain root access to a Mac as well as address the DYLD_PRINT_TO_FILE exploit.
All Mac users running Yosemite need to install the update or get their tech support services to help them if it has not been done already. You can access it through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store.
This patch update will also address compatibility with email servers when using Mail, fix Photos that prevents importing videos from GoPro cameras and fix QuickTime Player that prevents it to playback Windows Media files.
